ATTENTION VISITORS OF PLAYALINDA BEACH AT CANAVERAL NATIONAL SEASHORE IN BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA.
CFN is in the precarious position of trying to answer your questions such as "Can I sunbathe nude / Will I get arrested / Should I go to Apollo or Playalinda?".
You must decide what to do for yourself, based on the situation as follows:
- It is against the Brevard County ordinance (95-21) to be nude in public, or to wear a thong bathing suit in public.
- The Sheriff's office (which is trying to get a budget increase) has said they will respond to complaints about nudity if deputies are available.
- There were only 4 citations for nudity at Playalinda last year (that we know of) and they were by a state game warden.
- There have been no citations so far this year.
- There are a large number of sunbathers and a small number (if any) swimsuits north of lot 13, especially on weekends.
IF you and your family decide to visit Playalinda for a day of nude sunbathing, PLEASE OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:
- Stay out of the dunes! You WILL get a ticket!
- Park only in designated parking areas.
- Refrain from ALL lewd or sexual behavior. You WILL get arrested!
- STAY NORTH OF LOT 13.
- And please be friendly and respectful to the park rangers.
Please check the FAQ link for directions.... see you on the beach!
NOTE: We are still actively fighting to overthrow this ordinance. We MUST SUCCEED and we need your help. See the CFN ALERT page while you are here.
