Be advised that the NPS has greatly increased patrols in the traditionally clothing-optional areas at both beaches to ELIMINATE any and all sexual activity on the beach. ATTENTION: All Beachgoers at Apollo and Playalinda Beach!
Prosecutors are seeking, and judges have agreed to increased fines and penalties for those convicted.
CFN applauds, supports and will aid this effort ANY WAY POSSIBLE in order to protect continued naturist use of these areas and to provide the comfortable, family-friendly environment that we have worked and fought so hard for.
If anyone witnesses such inappropriate behavior, we urge you to report it to park personnel immediately. We are not condemning the activity, just the location of the activity. WE CANNOT TOLERATE this in ANY area of these beaches!!
We just won one Federal court case concerning Freedom of Speech that was 3 years in the making. There was a great deal of legal researching, filing briefs, taking time off work, going to court, filing answer briefs, filing supplemental authorities, and on and on...
While that case does not DIRECTLY effect your right to sunbathe nude, it was a very important part of that goal. There are still a few court cases yet to go to achieve this end.
With that in mind, we ask you (even BEG you) to make contributions whenever you are able, directly to CFN to continue financing these legal battles.
Please understand that even small contributions help! If you plan to go to the beach, plan to put some $$ toward keeping a beach to go to. When you are at the beach, look around you and think how much more we could accomplish if each and every one of those people had contributed SOMETHING that day.
We can promise you that you will see alot of news about this beach issue throughout the summer. Everytime you see us making news, you can figure it cost us!
We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of all of you who have donated. Even though you didn't get arrested, go to jail, go to court, etc, you ARE DOING your part to keep the beach free, just as much as those who went through the legal hassles.
